London-based but Wiltshire-raised, ANN LIU CANNON was plucked from Spiritual Bar, Camden’s live scene by renowned producer Ethan Johns (Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Laura Marling) leading her to sign her first publishing deal with BMG. They spent a year in the studio creating her debut album, now in its final stages of completion. Her debut EP, ‘CHALK’, marrying 70s folk revival with digital synthesis, was featured in Spotify’s editorial playlist ‘Notable’ and her debut single ‘Stranger in the Rain’ was played on BBC Radio Wiltshire and BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
Meanwhile, she’s opened for the iconic Beans on Toast across his UK tour, and for folk and country stars Rett Madison, Tommy Prine, Ferris and Sylvester, Sarah Shook and the Disarmers, Charlie Worsham, Kassi Valazza, Emily Scott Robinson and Margo Cilker at prestigious venues including The Clapham Grand in Brixton, and The Hotel Cafe Hollywood in LA. She’s represented ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris on the UTAT stage at The Great Escape Festival and Black Deer Festival and featured on Beans on Toast’s Foolhardy Folk stage at Bearded Theory. She opened for Lewis Ofman’s beloved ‘impromptu’ sets in Mexico City and Guadalajara, and recently held thriving homecoming EP Launches at Sound Knowledge in Marlborough and Spiritual Bar in Camden Town. She’s spent this year as Lewis Ofman’s guitarist and vocalist in his live band, touring the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe.
An independent artist on the rise, and showing no sign of slowing down, Ann is currently in the studio recording her next single with the help of her friends. Join us for her debut headline show, on the 27th January 2025 at The Green Note, Camden.
