ED BLUNT is a multi-instrumentalist storyteller whose songs will make you laugh and gently break your heart.
Blending folk, jazz and roots with Randy Newman-esque humour, he describes his music as “finding the little nuggets of magic in everyday life,”.
Born in the Surrey Hills, Ed grew up surrounded by the sounds of Paul Simon, James Taylor, and Van Morrison. His talent for playing by ear led him to study jazz piano at the Guildhall School, but on graduation he was left with crippling stage fright.
Stumbling on an online songwriting camp during the Covid lockdown proved to be a turning point. Mentor Chris Difford discovered his talent for the first time, calling him a “quiet genius.”
Since then, Ed has released two albums and collaborated with artists including Tom Odell, Beth Nielsen Chapman and Jamie Lawson.
His endearing stage presence and candid storytelling have earned him a devoted following, leaving a mark on the hearts of his listeners.
“Blunt demonstrates an astonishing mastery of his craft.” Rolling Stone
“His songs are wry and completely brilliant” Chris Difford (Squeeze)
DETTA KENZIE: Detta Kenzie is an English folk singer creating original songs alongside reworking traditional music. With both Irish and Scottish heritage, Detta is committed to collecting, restoring and sharing songs passed down in the oral tradition.
In her original work, a deep connection to the natural world is ever present. Inspired by place names, specific references to locations in Britain, Ireland and Australia bring a strength to Detta’s creations. Themes of womanhood, grief, rebellion and rage can be found in her deeply narrative based songs.
Having worked as a Secondary English Teacher before transitioning into music, Detta’s love of language shines through in her storytelling. Her words capture the diversity of the landscape and its ability to both mould and reflect human experience.
“Detta Kenzie is a singer of siren songs with a voice likely to lure the unsuspecting onto the rocks” FATEA Magazine
