Continuing Rebet Asker‘s evening gigs of non rebetiko Greek music, tonight’s performance is a tribute a a beloved singer of Greece who was often referred to as rebetissa of modern times. Poly Panou’s unique expressive voice made most of her songs an instant hit and as a household name is still listened to today. She worked with the greatest composers of all styles including Vassilis Tsitsanis and Mimis Plessas and holds a special place in the musical map if Greece.
