Square Roots Productions presents…
Toronto-born BONNIE DOBSON emerged from the clubs of New York’s Greenwich Village, the cradle of the 1960s folk revival. In a celebrated 1962 article, Time Magazine bracketed her with Joan Baez and Judy Collins. Bob Dylan was among her admirers and her song “Morning Dew”, written in 1961, has been recorded by the Fred Neil, Allman Brothers, the Grateful Dead, Lulu and Robert Plant. Bonnie has lived quietly in London since the late 1960s, her early albums sought after by the likes of Jarvis Cocker who encouraged her to return to the stage. Her peerless voice undiminished, she is now recording and touring once again.
Support: Harry Phillips is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Hertfordshire whose debut album English Americana – on which he plays a vintage Gibson B25 – is released this spring.
Established in 2015, SQUARE ROOTS PRODUCTIONS is a charity dedicated to the creation of landmark events and projects that recognise, promote and celebrate folk music heritage – the people, the places, the history – and in so doing create a legacy for future generations.
