ASHLEY MAHER: For decades, California-raised, Ashley Maher has built musical bridges with West Africa. Since Virgin Records UK released her first two albums worldwide, she has performed internationally and shared the stage with African icons like Youssou N’Dour and Salif Keita.
Since 2007, Ashley’s passion has been Senegalese mbalax music. She has traveled over twenty times to Dakar, Senegal to record, study, make videos, and perform with top mbalax musicians, dancers, and artists. In 2019, she recorded her seventh album, Made in Senegal, at Papis Konate’s busy Dakar studio. She has since returned to perform with her fiery band, Dox Daje, at the Saint Louis International Jazz Festival and the Dialaw Festival.
Ashley’s acoustic Green Note show is her first London appearance since 2009!! She will be joined by her LA-based guitarist, Federico Ramos (Uruguay), bassist Amadou Ndir (Senegal) and percussionist Karim Mbaye (Senegal). Ashley is excited to reunite with her UK friends and friends, while also connecting to London’s vibrant Senegambian community.

Doors open 7pm. Music starts 8.30pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited, and available on a first come first served basis, so if you’d like a seat, we recommend arriving early!
