DUEA is a stream alive in summer and silent in winter, it flows near the house where Chiara and Sara grew up, in Sampeyre in the Varaita Valley. This valley overlooking Monviso is rich in traditions that resonate in the melodies, rhythms and dances of popular music, an indispensable element during the festivals.
DUEA’s music has its roots in traditional melodies, but takes off with original songs for two violins, contaminated by international folk and a pinch of electronics.

Music for two violins and two sisters is the project DUEA by Chiara and Sara Cesano, who grew up in Valle Varaita in the north of Italy. They blend the musical roots of their land with international folk influences and a touch of electronics. The new album Cucunà (September 2024) evokes not only care and family intimacy but also strength and sisterhood.

The original songs explore soundscapes that recall nature and traditions, weaving harmonies that celebrate the deep connection with the mountains and local cultural roots. Cucunà is also a socio-cultural project that intertwines music and craftsmanship, involving women from the mountainous areas of Cuneo (Piedmont).

Doors open 7pm. Music starts 8.30pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited and available on a first come first served basis so, if you’d like a seat, we recommend arriving early!
