Roundtable Collective presents… HOLLY LOWE with support from JAY FRASER & LINA ANDONOVSKA

For many people, signing your first record deal with a major label like Mercury aged seventeen would seem like a dream – for HOLLY LOWE, it was a reality. But as her manager said at the time – signing your first record deal is only 1% of your career. Disillusioned and disheartened by the reality of the industry in those years, she decided to focus on what mattered to her more than fame and fortune – honing her craft.

Taking a hiatus from recording and touring her own music, Holly has carved a path playing piano and singing at the most prestigious events around the world, whether it be being flown in to play for Omani royalty, a vineyard wedding in South Africa, a golf course opening in the Middle East or the Cannes Film Festival. Born in London, raised in Scarborough, escaping to Europe and with music in the family it’s unsurprising that Holly set off for a life of musical adventure. Adapting to such varied contexts and events meant her already diverse musical range expanded further. Yet, even though it seemed to have been on pause for a while, the creativity never left her; percolating in the background as life experiences, love and philosophy were brewing something within her that would soon have to be released back into the world.

LINA ANDONOVSKA is Roundtable Collective alumni of golden stature and was recently appointed as flautist of 4-time Grammy Award-winning ensemble Eighth Blackbird, she has collaborated with groups including Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Recherche, Crash Ensemble, Deutsches Kammerorchester, stargaze and Southern Cross Soloists. She is critically acclaimed for her interpretation of new music; Rolling Stone Magazine hailed her performance at Bang On A Can Summer Festival as “superbly played, (ranging) from sustained ‘somebody-please-get-that-tea-kettle’ squeaks to the flit and flutter of its beautifully lilting trills…”

As an orchestral player she has worked with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Southbank Sinfonia and most of Australia’s symphony orchestras. She currently performs as Principal Flute with Irish National Opera Orchestra. As concerto soloist she has performed with Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, US Navy Band, Deutsches Kammerorchester, Orchestra Victoria, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Southbank Sinfonia.

This very special return to the Green Note stage is to celebrate and launch her latest collaboration with London based Australian songwriter JAY FRASER. The project is Hobo Chic; a mini-album, and these old friends are teaming up to play the album in full at this Roundtable Collective Chrissy Special!

Hobo Chic was released on Nov 22 and can be streamed on all major streaming platforms.
