THE BASEMENT BAR

Sat 7th December 7:30pm
Sold out

Originally salvaged from the murky waters of the Leeds house party scene in the early 2000s, Ian Beetlestone & the Drowning Rats resurfaced in mid-2010s London’s equally murky King’s Cross, before disappearing again in 2023.

Now they’re back: clinging to the flotsam left behind when Tom Waits, Nina Simone, Jaques Brel and the Shangri-Las were recovered from the wreck, the Rats still wait to be rescued.

Expect an intimate evening of ratty jazz, drowned pop, magic, mystery, darkness, light, and heartfelt invocation of the capricious twin deities of love and song.
