Presented by Folklore…
THE WATER CHORUS: The Water Chorus are a group of mates with nothing better to do than piss about with a load of instruments and dig up weird old folk songs.
Their music ranges from the raucously celebratory to the eerily affecting. Punky, upbeat arrangements of traditional songs and tunes re-discover the joy and energy in folk music, whilst atmospheric re-imaginings of almost-forgotten ballads find sorrow, humour and absurdity in stories from the past.
With an ever expanding repertoire of traditional material, they play the music that they love, rooted in the irreverent singaround/session traditions that they’ve grown up with.
Support from MARIA MIHAILIK: Born in Ukraine and currently living in South East London, Maria Mihailik is a young singer-songwriter. Inspired by classic singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell, she blends folk styles and contemporary themes in a confessional, intimate way. Maria has recently released her debut EP- a collection of her early work written between the ages of 16 and 18.
Doors open 1.30pm, Music starts 2.30pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited, and available on a first come first served basis, so if you’d like a seat, we recommend arriving early!
