Born in the wilds of Patagonia, Argentina, and now making waves in the vibrant music scene of London. Matu is a singer-songwriter with a truly international background, with roots tracing back to Ireland, the Netherlands, and Italy. Embracing the essence of alternative folk, Matu crafts songs that delve into personal experiences with introspective lyrics and stirring melodies.
Matu found limited opportunities to showcase his music style in Argentina’s scene, prompting him to venture into the world of Twitch streaming in 2018. Since then, he’s cultivated a vibrant community, became a Twitch Partner and currently maintains a consistent streaming schedule.
Before moving to London he released his debut EP “BECOMING” with songs like “The Days Don’t Come Back” that got into Indie Folk Central’s prestigious playlist “Best Indie Folk of 2020”
From the iconic venue The Troubadour, where he celebrated the launch of his 2nd EP “Back Of My Bones” to the dynamic stages of Oslo Hackney and The Finsbury, Matu captivates audiences with raw and emotive performances.
Recently awarded a grant from Help Musicians, Matu is gearing up to release his highly anticipated upcoming EP. The first single, “Your Show,” will drop on November 15th, and he’ll be celebrating its release with a special gig on December 9th at The Green Note (basement), marking his first live performance after the single’s launch.
