Trans-Atlantic friends and musical collaborators Taylor Smith (USA) & Chris Copen (Denmark) are joining forces again for a special show at Green Note. The two were brought together through their love of New Orleans, (where Taylor spent ten years living, and where Chris has visited numerous times), and have both found endless inspiration from the deep well of music that grew out of that city. The duo first got together in 2022 when Taylor was organizing a tour of France with his band, The Roamin’ Jasmine, and Chris offered to organize some gigs for Taylor & a crew of Danish musicians at the Copenhagen Jazz Fest. Their natural musical chemistry was quickly apparent due to their common language of New Orleans music. Chris’s fluency in the piano styles of Dr. John, Professor Longhair blended seamlessly with Taylor’s interpretations of Earl King and Fats Domino, always firmly rooted in the Blues. Expect some rollicking rhythm & blues piano, driving double bass and soulful vocals from these two New Orleans music aficionados that you won’t want to miss!
Doors open 7.30pm. Music starts 8pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited, and available on a first come first served basis, so if you’d like a seat, we recommend arriving early!
