After an eventful 2024 HANK WANGFORD brings his Big Bass Combo back to the intimacy of the gorgeous Green Note. Highlights of the year have been his paean to the NHS written in the dark post op intensive care night after his five hour heart procedure, his appearance with Billy Bragg and his compadre (here with the BBC tonight) Noel Dashwood at Glastonbury, festival gigs in the UK and Ireland and other gigs with the BBC and the Lost Cowboys.
Spanner Robinson’s superb vocals, Lord Kevin Foster’s spirited bass,The Dash’s transcendent dobro and El Picko’s minimalist drumming all join Hank in his offering of miserable heartbroken songs from the dark underbelly of Country music. Visit us at the ‘Note and learn to laugh at tragedy.
